The wrestlers jumped out to an early lead on Senior night only to fall in the end 36-31. By winning the first six matches, Crestwood jumped out to what seemed like an insurmountable 28-0 lead. After Dalton Tyrrell’s hard fought 4-0 win at 160, the host team led 31-6 more than halfway through the match. In the end, Hudson’s upper-weights took advantage of bonus points and two forfeits and won a hard fought dual despite Crestwood winning seven of twelve matches. The evening started off nicely by honoring seniors Dominic Savoca, Jacob Ober, Devin Hukill and Tyrrell. The quartet went 3-1 on the night. Another early highlight saw Junior state place-winner Brett Szuhay pin his opponent and earn career win #100.
Next up for the grapplers… a trip to Columbus for the Division 3 State Duals versus #3 seed Versailles. The Sunday afternoon matinee begins at 1:15 in Saint John’s Arena on Ohio State’s campus. Good luck to the wrestlers as they represent the Crestwood community.
