Crestwood Red Devils Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 21-2 loss to Kirtland on Tuesday. Kirtland scored on a triple by Mason Sullivan and a groundout by Adam Knaak in the first inning.
The Crestwood Red Devils Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Kirtland, giving up 21 runs.
Kirtland got on the board in the first inning when Sullivan tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Kirtland scored nine runs in the second inning. Victor Alferi, Reese VanArnhem, Anthony DeMarco, Sullivan, Luke Chuko, and Gage Sullivan each drove in runs during the inning.
Sullivan took the win for Kirtland. The bulldog surrendered two runs on one hit over four innings, striking out six. Aaron Fortuna threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Jake Rowe took the loss for Crestwood Red Devils Varsity . The pitcher surrendered 11 runs on ten hits over two innings, striking out one.

Kirtland totaled 20 hits. Sullivan, VanArnhem, Andrew Spencer, and DeMarco each managed multiple hits for Kirtland. Sullivan went 5-for-5 at the plate to lead Kirtland in hits.
Kirtland didn’t commit a single error in the field. Timthy Lowery had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
